Banyan International Corporation was founded in 1972 by two surgeons in Abilene, Texas, and a business man from San Antonio, Texas. Banyan's primary goal was to provide life-saving emergency equipment to physicians and dentists in a compact, organized, easy-to-use format. The first emergency kit produced by Banyan International Corporation was sold in 1973. Since that time approximately 100,000 physicians and dentists have gained access to Banyan emergency kits, and more than 2,800 medical supply dealers carry the Stat Kit product line.

This comprehensive medical emergency kit has been designed for the dental office setting, and adheres to the same organizational standards as the original Banyan Stat Kit.
